High-Temperature, Corrosion-Resistant and Refractory Metals

Nufit Piping Solutions is one of the leading Manufacturer and Supplier of Recfactory Metal that are actually manufactured from High Quality of Standard Raw Materials and are designed as per with national and globe standards. For applications where high dissolving focuses, great quality at lifted temperatures, thermal and electrical conductivity, low coefficient of extension, and low vapor weight at raised temperatures are required (e.g. furnace components, heat exchangers/coils, welding electrodes, etc).

Tantalum

NUFIT PIPING SOLUTIONS stocks Tantalum Products in a variety of sizes. Below are some of the standard stock items. We can cut, slit, shear, or center less grind Tantalum to your exact specifications, and we also have tremendous versatility when it comes to custom sizes, packages, and unusual materials. Tantalum has good thermal conductivity, and is used is in the manufacture of heating elements, vacuum tubes and other high temperature parts. Another major use of tantalum is for electronic components, and due to its absorption properties, tantalum is an excellent getter of residual gasses in evacuation tubes. Tantalum films provide very high capacitance per volume allowing miniaturization of electronics and circuitry. Tantalum capacitors are use in computers and cellular phones. Tantalum is also famous for its resistance to corrosion by acids; in fact, below 150?C, Tantalum is almost completely immune to corrosion by aqua regia. Due to its resistance to attack by body fluids, Tantalum provides an excellent material for medical devices. Tantalum is well known for its resistance to corrosion by acids; truth be told, underneath 150˚C, tantalum is totally insusceptible to consumption by water regia. Because of its resistance to assault by body liquids, tantalum gives a magnificent material to restorative gadgets. Molybdenum

Molybdenum's remarkable properties offer ascent to procedures and applications in hardware, aviation, atomic and metal working businesses which would not be conceivable with a considerable lot of the more typical metals and compounds. A portion of the all the more fascinating properties of Molybdenum identify with high temperature applications - high temperature quality, great warm properties, great electrical conductivity, low coefficient of development and low vapor weight at lifted temperatures. Molybdenum is a refractory metal that is very useful in many industrial processes and applications that would not be possible with many of the more common metals and alloys. Refractory metals and alloys are extraordinarily resistant to heat and have unique physical properties. Because of these properties Molybdenum is useful in many high temperature applications where high melting points are required. Molybdenum also exhibits good strength at elevated temperatures making moly useful in furnace, aerospace, and similar applications. And Molybdenum's good thermal and electrical conductivity and low coefficient of expansion make it a useful metal in electronic/electrical and glass-to-metal sealing applications. Molybdenum also has nuclear energy applications, and is employed as a catalyst in the petroleum refining industry. Molybdenum is also an essential trace element in plant nutrition, and Molybdenum sulfide is useful as a lubricant, especially at high temperatures where oils would decompose.

Tungsten

NUFIT PIPING SOLUTIONS stocks Tungsten in a variety of forms and dimensions. Below are most of the standard stock form/sizes. If you do not see the size or form of Tungsten that you require, please call one of our materials experts; our sales people are very knowledgeable and can assist you. We can cut, slit, shear, or center less grind Tungsten to your exact specifications, and we also have tremendous versatility when it comes to custom sizes, packages, and unusual materials Many practical applications of Tungsten are based on its high melting point and density and its low vapor pressure. Tungsten is an excellent material for high vacuum technology, dimensional stability, glass seals and furnace construction. In addition, Tungsten's high density gives it a capacity to absorb radioactive radiation. Tungsten has found wide use as additives to steel to enhance physical properties and an alloy with nickel, copper and iron to provide high density machinable materials. Numerous reasonable uses of tungsten depend on its high liquefying point and thickness and its low vapor weight. Tungsten is an astounding material for high vacuum innovation, dimensional strength, glass seals and heater development. Furthermore, tungsten's high thickness gives it an ability to ingest radioactive radiation. Tungsten has discovered wide use as added substances to steel to upgrade physical properties and an amalgam with nickel, copper and iron to give high thickness machinable materials.

Nichrome

Nichrome is a nickel-chromium resistance alloy for operating temperatures up to 2150° F. It is non-magnetic, highly corrosion resistant and has a lower coefficient of resistance than other heater element alloys. Typical Applications for the material include flat irons, ironing machines, quartz tube heaters, cartridge elements, etc. The lack of reactivity to MgO refractories make it the most suitable alloy for enclosed heater elements especially in higher temperature ranges.

Zirconium

Zirconium has a melting point of 1855 degrees C or 3371 degrees F. Zirconium is a highly corrosion resistant metal that is us used for many products. Some include pumps, valves, nuclear applications, chemical processing, reactor vessels, heat exchangers and more. The nuclear power industry uses nearly 90% of the zirconium produced each year. Zirconium is also used as an alloying agent in steel, to make some types of surgical equipment and as a getter, a material that combines with and removes trace gases form vacuum tubes. Zirconium is weldable and formable. Zirconia for use as a refractory is made by two processes. A stabilising oxide, e.g. MgO, is added in the desired amount, typically 6 mol%, briquetted and fired to a temperature above 1600°C. This converts the main body of the zirconia to the cubic phase. The fired briquettes are then ground in a ball mill to lessthen 10 mm, using steel grinding media. The powder is then washed in dilute HC1, to remove impurities and used to form a casting slip (pH@ 3). Drying produces a shrinkage of 2-4% and following firing at typically 1900°C, a further contraction of ~ 15% occurs.

  • Used to make high temperature superconductive materials.
  • Used to make electrodes components, foils, flanges bolts, tubes and rods for special applications
  • Wide applications in medical equipment, such as zirconium implants.
  • Zirconium alloys are also considered to be promising materials for commercial amorphous metal, also called metallic glass. Compared with common metal materials, amorphous metal has no grain boundaries, leading to better wear resistance and hardness.
